Ports and shipping business is taken charge by SDIC Communication Company. Assets scattered mainly in the regions of the Bohai Bay, the Yangtze River mouth, the Pearl River Delta and the Beibu Bay. The ports in which SDIC has controlling shares include the Caofeidian Coal Port (the first-phase project has an annual handling capacity of 50 million tons), the Jingtang Port Coal Dock (with an annual handling capacity of 30 million tons),the Zhenjiang Port (with an annual handling capacity of 26.58 million tons),  Yangpu Port (with an annual handling capacity of 7.6 million tons), the total handling capacity of 114.18 million tons. In addition, projects in construction include  the Caofeidian Coal Port (the second-phase project has an annual handling capacity of 50 million tons), the expansion of Jingtang Port Coal Dock (with an annual handling capacity of 20 million tons),  Yangpu Port (with an annual handling capacity of 24 million tons),  Meizhou Bay Coal Port (with an annual handling capacity of 15 million tons),  Qinzhou Coal Port (with an annual handling capacity of 13 million tons). SDIC Communication has shares in some ports such as Yingkou port, Tangshan port, Ningbo port Haikou port.
