On Nov. 27^th, Chairman Wang Huisheng visited Lou Qinjian Party Secretary of Jiangsu province. Vice Governor Ma Qiulin and Pascal Sorrit CEO of AstraZeneca attended the meeting.

Wang Huisheng briefed Lou on SDIC’s latest development, transformation &reform and business in Jiangsu. Wang Huisheng pointed out that Jiangsu had the advantages of fast-developing economy, high degree of openness and urbanization, great vitality, which made it the investment priority for SDIC. Since the two sides signed strategic cooperation agreement in 2016, SDIC and Jiangsu had been carrying out cooperation in pharmaceutical industry, health & old-age caring as well as testing & certifying fields. Dizhe (Jiangsu) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. jointly established by SDIC Chuanghe and AstraZeneca would take full advantage of SDIC and AstraZeneca resources and carry out R& D of new drugs with a view to benefitting the Chinese people and playing a positive role in building a healthy China.

Lou Qinjian expressed his appreciation on the joint venture of SDIC and AstraZeneca. He said that Jiangsu has sound manufacturing base, great human talents which had laid good foundation for pharmaceutical industry. AstraZeneca had established its investment projects in Jiangsu since China’s reform and opening up policy. With the rapid economic and social development in China and the aspiration of people to better life, health related industries had broad space for further development. We would support the joint venture of Astra Zeneca and SDIC in Jiangsu by providing better service. We were looking forward to further cooperation between SDIC and Astra Zeneca in more and more areas with a view to win-win result and shared development.

Pascal Soriot talked about the development of Astra Zeneca in Jiangsu. He said that Jiangsu had good environment for business with innovative atmosphere and broad space for future development. Astra Zeneca would give full play to its own advantages to push forward its cooperation with Jiangsu in R&D and health networking to broaden cooperation area and help Jiangsu’s development.

At the same day, Astra Zeneca reached strategic cooperation with SDIC’s FIIF. The two sides established an independent and equal-equity joint venture—Dizhe (Jiangsu) Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. which focused on the R&D and commercialization of new drugs.
