“Being a central SOE is the biggest social responsibility.” SDIC Vice President Qian Meng quoted Chairman Wang Huisheng as saying so at the seminar held in Tsinghua University.

On Dec. 6^th, 2017, hosted by Xinhuanet, Corporate Social Responsibility Research Center of China Academy of Social Sciences and Research Center of Reform & Development of Chinese Enterprises, China Social Responsibility Welfare Ceremony 2017 was held in Beijing. Zhou Tienong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11^th National People’s Congress delivered the opening speech. Vice President Qian Meng gave a speech on behalf of SDIC.

It the second time in a row that SDIC has been awarded with this prize.

Qian Meng also talked about SDIC’s experience in poverty alleviation. He said that poverty alleviation was the born responsibility of SDIC. Since its establishment, SDIC had been responsible for poverty alleviation tasks in 27 villages, 10 counties in 4 provinces. By November 2017, SDIC had donated 550 million RMB yuan and 132 million RMB targeted poverty alleviation fund. During the process of poverty alleviation, SDIC had explored six modes namely, targeted PA, PA through education, PA through engineering, PA through fund, PA through exchanging carders.

This November, SDIC successfully released the first White Paper for Poverty Alleviation (1995-2017). This award is not only a successful practice of promoting corporate brand by social responsibility but also an expansion of the social influence of SDIC.
