On Feb. 12th, 2018, 48 Group Club and CCCUK co-hosted a dinner “Celebrating the Year of the Dog” in Dorchester Hotel London. Chinese Ambassador to UK Liu Xiaoming and his wife, 48 Group Club Chairman Stephen Perry, CCCUK Chairman & BOC UK Chairman Sun Yu and UK Minister of State for International Development Lord Bates and over 400 people from government, economic, financial, education and media circles from China and UK attended the ceremony. SDIC won the “48 Group Club-KPMG UK-China Business Awards”. The Chairman of 48 Group Club Stephen Perry expressed congratulations to SDIC and said that SDIC’s investment to the offshore wind power project was a milestone. He hoped that SDIC could expand UK market with a view to benefitting the people of the two countries. KPMG member of Board & Partner David Soyer said that he was glad KPMG could be the provider for SDIC’s acquisition of the UK project. SDIC was a reliable partner and he hoped KPMG could have more opportunity to work with SDIC. In May 2016, SDIC Power acquired 100% of the equity of Repsol’s wind power company RNEUK. This is the first overseas acquisition of SDIC in mature power market in developed countries in Europe. By far, it has been the most successful investment if SDUC with the largest amount of money in UK. It has optimized SDIC’s industrial layout, strengthened confidence for overseas M&A and pushed forward internationalization of SDIC in a fast and better way. Currently, the two projects are under construction. It is estimated that the projects will push 5.2 billion British Pound investment into UK’s offshore power projects. During the event, representatives from SDIC communicated with other representatives from different circles and briefed them on SDIC’s investment in UK.
