Established in 1953, China Electronics Engineering Design Institute Co., Ltd. (CEEDI) was once subordinate to the former Ministry of Electronics Industry and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. CEEDI had been under the management of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) since 2003, and was merged into SDIC in 2009.

Led by design, CEEDI provides both domestic and overseas clients with high-quality and comprehensive engineering services including preliminary consulting, planning, environmental impact and energy-conservation assessment, project design, project management, project contracting, and engineering inspection and assessment in the fields of industrial projects, civil architecture, and inspection and testing, etc..
