On May 16, 2022, SDIC Jingtang Port held a signing ceremony via cloud-video conferencing platform for the establishment of the SDIC-China Unicom Bohai Rim Intelligent Port Innovation and Research Center.

Executives of China Unicom Tangshan Company delivered a report on the early stage preparations of the innovation and research center and the overall progress of the intelligent cloud management and control platform. Details were provided regarding the policy background of the intelligent port construction, classic cases of digital transformation of the port industry, early stage preparations of the innovation and research center, progress of the cloud management and control platform, and the overall planning of digital transformation of the SDIC Jingtang Port. At the conference, leaders from both sides conducted in-depth exchange on the construction of the intelligent cloud management and control platform, and reached consensus on deepening long-term cooperation between the two sides.

Establishment of the SDIC-China Unicom Bohai Rim Intelligent Port Innovation and Research Center indicates the further deepening of strategic cooperation between SDIC Jingtang Port and China Unicom, and is a “mutual construction, mutual benefit and win-win” new model of production-research integration and collaborative innovation in intelligent port construction. Such cooperation lays a solid foundation for construction of the intelligent port and the application of innovative intelligence, and in the meantime, provides strong support to accelerating the completion of corporate digital transformation.

Present at the “cloud” signing ceremony were Ji Xuebin, director of the SDIC Jingtang Port Intelligent Construction Committee, Hu Qichao, director of the project office of the intelligent port construction committee, Xu Jie, deputy general manager of China Unicom Hebei Company, and executives from the government and corporate client department of China Unicom Hebei Company, China Unicom Xiongan Industry Internet Company, China Unicom Tangshan Company and China Unicom port company. Ji Xuebin expressed his expectations in following areas: pay high attention to the project and make best use of the industry advantages of each side; carry out thorough research, enhance exchanges and attach importance to the cultivation of innovative personnel; carry out thorough analysis on the difficulties of the intelligent port construction, give full consideration to potential risks and work out scientific and reasonable implementation plans; and stress the key point, actively promote the construction of the intelligent port project, and make joint efforts to promote the digital transformation of SDIC Jingtang Port through the study of classic cases of the port industry.
