On June 28th, 2022, SDIC Chairman Fu Gangfeng met Nie Jianguo, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Nie is also the Director of the Civil, Hydraulic and Engineering Division of the CAE, convenor of the discipline review group of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and President of the Institute for Future Cities and Infrastructures of Tsinghua University. SDIC Board Member Sun Zhiyong attended the meeting.

Chairman Fu thanked Academician Nie for being an expert on the assessment of SDIC chief scientist. Fu stressed that talent was the first resource and SDIC had, for the first time, selected the science and technology leader for the SDIC Group, which was an important move for the Group to deepen the study and implementation of President Xi Jinping's important thought on the talent work of the new era. He expressed his hope that the experts adhere to strict assessment standards, provide guidance and give valuable opinions on the scientific and technological innovation and talent cultivation of SDIC. SDIC would actively play its role of a state-owned capital investment company and continue to deepen its exchanges and cooperation with Tsinghua University and the academicians and experts so as to explore synergized innovation in more fields.

Academician Nie expressed his gratitude to Chairman Fu for his warm reception and said that the key for high quality development of an enterprise lied in innovation and innovation-driven was, after all, talent-driven. He suggested that SDIC made full use of the expert resources of academicians to better serve the selection of talented people, the development of state-owned enterprises and the national strategy so as to continuously promote the high quality development of SDIC.
