At 12:52 on September 5, 2022, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake hit Luding county,the Ganzi Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Sichuan province, causing heavy casualties and property losses. The SDIC Group top management has firmly implemented the important instructions of President Xi Jinping and the decisions of the central government as well as the arrangement of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council to start emergency disaster relief work and go all out to guarantee power supply to the quake-hit areas. SDIC Group donated 20 million yuan RMB to the quake-hit areas through the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Charity for disaster relief and post-earthquake reconstruction.

After the massive earthquake occurred, the SDIC Group top management immediately initiated its emergency response and instructed its subordinate enterprises in Sichuan to go all out to join the local disaster relief work. The SDIC Yalong River Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. promptly started its emergency mechanism and the site of the river basin was put under emergency state. Against the background that Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, was under entire territory lockdown due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic cases, the company well coordinated its work between pandemic prevention and control and disaster relief, promptly deployed resources on management of the centralized control center and the Lianghekou and Jinping hydropower stations so as to guarantee stable supply of electric power, on the basis of analysis of the earthquake disaster situation and the operation situations of its hydropower stations.

In the next step, SDIC Group will join hands with the people in the quake-hit areas in Sichuan province to continuously give play to the strength and capabilities of a central SOE in providing constant support to disaster relief, guaranteed power supply and post-earthquake reconstruction so as to make active contributions to the protection of people's life and property, and to the early resuming of local production and daily life in the quake zone.
